Wouldn’t it be nice if you could run the same diagnostics the mechanics do on your vehicle? A diagnostic scanner is designed to do just that. The Foxwell NT510 Multi-System Diagnostic Scanner can give you the low-down on your vehicle’s less-than-stellar performance for less than a trip to the garage will cost you.
What Is A Multi-System Diagnostic Scanner?
A multi-system diagnostic scanner is a useful tool for car enthusiasts, repair shops, garages or do-it-yourself technicians. A scanner is an electronic tool that you can use to interface with your car’s computer system to diagnose problems.
This device can display live data streams, both input, and output. It also has bi-directional controls, which is the ability to make the controllers do tasks outside of normal operations. Scanners may also be able to recalibrate modules within specific parameters.
The benefits of owning a scanner vary. If you are in the repair business, a scanner is an essential tool. Professional technicians use a scanner to locate the faulty system that is causing the check engine light to turn on.
However, if you like to monkey around under the hood for fun, you may not need a scanner, although one might be helpful. Amateur mechanics could use a scanner to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems. The average car owner could use a scanner to estimate repair costs before taking a broken down vehicle to the shop.
The Foxwell NT510 Multi-System Diagnostic Scanner can read, and clear diagnostic codes show live data, run system tests, program control modules, actuate components, and make adaptations. It allows you to access the throttle body adjustment, DPF regeneration, and oil service light reset.
The menu is in Hungarian, Portuguese, Italian, English, Russian, French, German and Dutch. The screen is back-lit with a thin-film transistor (TFT) color display.
Live vehicle sensor data can be examined in a graph or text format. Two parameter graphs can be viewed at the same time, then merged for a specific diagnosis. Vehicles can be identified automatically using the vehicle identification number (VIN) retrieval.
All 10 OBD-II test modes are supported by the NT510. Additionally, all the main OBD-I systems are scanned so you can read and clear codes in the engine, transmission, anti-lock braking system (ABS), and supplemental restraint system (SRS) which are your airbags.
Using the Foxwell NT510, you can access the new battery registration, ABS module activation, EPB caliper diagnosis, DPF regeneration, brake deactivation, and control service interval reset. Update your scanner with the latest bug fixes, parameters, and functionality using the SD memory card and a download from the internet.
The NT510 comes with a convenient nylon pouch and is padded with rubber edging with extra at the corners. The screen is also protected with a screen protector. The Foxwell NT510 can be used with a variety of makes and models.
It comes with one free car system and software. Additional software can be purchased separately. The device can handle up to five different vehicle specifications. Software is available for Chrysler, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Land Rovers, Jaguars, OPEL, Vauxhall, VW, Audi, BMW, Mini, Fiat, American Ford, Mazda, Maserati, Ferrari, Volvo, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce vehicles.

It performs all of the advanced diagnostics of the Foxwell NT510 without the hassle of downloading additional software. It is multi-brand compatible with the US, European, and Asian models.
Launch provides a three-year warranty for its product with an option to upgrade to a 5-year coverage and a money-back guarantee for manufacturer defects the first year. Updates are available free online. The outer shell is durable but not padded.
The Foxwell NT510 is a great tool to perform basic, advanced, and professional-grade diagnostics on your vehicle. However, we find that the complexity is more than the average at-home mechanic can handle. This tool is more suited to professional technicians.
The main drawback is that the Foxwell NT510 is vehicle specific and to diagnose another model, additional software must be purchased. The limited one-year warranty is also less than to be expected for a tool of this sophistication and price. We rate the Foxwell NT510 3 out of 5 stars.
